Meet Holly, The GR Dietitian
As a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I have always been passionate about helping others create a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I have personally viewed nutrition through many lenses: as a plant-based eater, an athlete, a parent, a teacher, and, most importantly, a student. I know firsthand that it can be difficult in our modern world to sort through all of the opinions, misinformation, and profit-based plans that are so readily available. But I believe nutrition should be simple, so I’m here to advocate for change.
In my work, I translate science-based information into simple terms and practical strategies. I combine that with my professional experience to create customized recommendations that work for you, while providing support and encouragement. My goal is for you to feel informed and empowered to take on your goals, and to find nutrition normalcy and the balance that is right for you!
I’ve been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in the greater Grand Rapids, MI area since 2008. I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Dietetics from Western Michigan University. In addition, I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. And I hold a certificate of training from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in Functional and Integrative Nutrition.
I have spent most of my career specializing in nutrition optimization for prevention of chronic diseases. Since aligning my practices with Health at Every Size (HAES), I help others learn to take care of themselves and find nutrition balance without focusing on weight or weight loss.
My areas of specialty include:
- Recovery from Chronic Dieting, Disordered Eating, and Eating Disorders
- Intuitive Eating
- Plant-Forward Eating Patterns
- Mediterranean-style diets
- DASH diet
- Whole food, plant-based diets
- Medical Nutrition Therapy for Prevention of Chronic Diseases
